Introduction about tensiling after the anchor bolts are embedded

Q235 steel is generally used for anchor bolts, which is smooth and circular. Rebar (Q345) has a hign strength grade, thus it is not easy to do screw thread of nut than Q235. For Q235, the buried depth is generally as 25 times as its diameter. And it's needed to make a 120mm-longth and 90-degree hook. If the diameter is too big (45mm) or the depth is too deep, it could weld plates in the end of the bolt. You can make a big head, but it also has certain requirements. Depth and hook ensure bolts and the friction of foundation, so that bolts aren't destroyed when pulled out. Therefore, the bolt's tensile strength is as the same as the round steel itself, and the size equals to cross-sectional area multiplied by the design value of tensile strength (140MPa), which is designed to allow the tension strength. Ultimate tensile strength equals to its cross-sectional area (in this case it's the effective area of thread Office) multiplied by the tensile strength of steel (Q235 tensile strength is 235MPa). Because the design value is conservative, the tensile strength is less than the ultimate tensile strength in design.
